Doha, Dec 11: India's ace long jumper Anju Bobby George, who clinched the Asian Games silver medal in the women's long jump event, today admitted that she was under enormous pressure to win a medal since she had not participared in too many competitions. "We are always facing the same pressure in all the competitions. I wanted to win the gold medal, not the silver medal. But it is okay", the 31-year-old Anju said.
"My country expects a gold from me every time. The expectations are high, it is not always possible to live upto it".

Anju said she was not doing too well in the early stages as she hurt her leg in the first jump.

"Today, my body was not going so well, so I could not do well. There was some trouble. I hurt my leg on the first jump," she explained.

On the support of the Indian crowd, she said "I have been coming here for the last four years and they are always supporting me. They are all from my native place Kerala. Thirty members of my family are here".

She said since her Asian games event is over, she will now start preparations for the Beijing Olympics scheduled to be held in 2006.

"I came here with enough training, but I didnt go to enough competitions this year. From tomorrow, we will start training for the Olympics", she added.
