Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting India's Olympic contingent on Monday for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil.

This will be an informal interaction, where our PM will intend to instill some of his confidence and self-belief in the the athletes, motivating them to earn medals for the country.


A total of 102 athletes from 13 different sport disciplines have already been selected with a few more names expected to be added before the start of the mega-event.


One of India's most consistent performers and an icon for many, Abhinav Bindra took to twitter to express his feelings at the Prime Minister's initiative. He said, “For the first time ever there is a send off by the @PMOIndia @narendramodi for the Olympic Team . What a great gesture , #respect.”



The eventual list to represent the country at Olympics is expected to cross the figure of 110, but a few of them who are currently competing abroad will miss this meeting with PM Modi.
