New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a budding volleyball player was on Friday was stabbed to death in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district.

Meanwhile, according to a report in ANI, the man accused of killing the volleyball player in Kolkata surrendered before Jagatdal Police Station this morning.


The accused said that he had taken this extreme step after he found Sanghitha was cheating on him.


"I had been reduced to take the extreme step after I found out that Sanghita(Tina)had been cheating on me," he said.


He also added that the victim had been in a relationship with him for the past two years.


Earlier, according to a reports, the gruesome act was executed when Sangeeta Aich was on her way to a coaching camp.


According to police complaint filed by the family, a youth who was stalking the 15-year-old for last few days, attacked her with sharp edged weapon after she rejected his advances.


“No arrest has been made as of yet now. We are pursuing the suspect,” additional superintendent of police Tarun Halder said.


Sangeeta had participated in the junior category national level volleyball tournament.
