India`s dismal show at the Rio Olympics 2016 continued as the country is still waiting for its first medal after three days.
Rio De Janeiro: India's wait for the first medal at Rio Olympics 2016 continues as Abhinav Bindra got extremely close to clinching the bronze medal at the men's 10m Air Rifle event on Day 3 of the mega event.
While Bindra ended up being at the fourth position, India's men's and women's hockey teams also suffered defeats.
Here is a sum up of all the performances by Indian athletes on Day 3:
Shooting: Abhinav Bindra missed out on a bronze medal by a whisker as he finished fourth in men's 10m Air Rifle event.
Shooting: Gagan Narang was eliminated after finishing a lousy 23rd in the qualifying, with a score of 621.7.
Archery: Laxmirani Majhi suffered a 1-7 thrashing at the hands of Slovakia's Alexandra Longova in the first round of the individual event.
Hockey: Indian men's hockey team conceded a goal in dying seconds of the game vs Germany and lost the match 2-1.
Swimming: Shivani Kataria finished 41st with a timing of 2:09.30 in the women's 200m freestyle heats, second from bottom.
Swimming: Sajan Prakash finished 28th in men's 200m butterfly with a timing of 1:59.37, second from bottom.
Hockey: Indian women's hockey team suffered a 3-0 defeat against Great Britain in their second match.
