Pooja Kumari, a second year BA student, was found hanging in her room yesterday. She left a suicide note, which addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In her suicide note, the 20-year-old mentioned that the reason for ending her life is her helpless state in paying hostel fees and traveling expenses.

She also urged the PM to ensure free education to underprivileged girls like her.

According to reports, Pooja got admission in the Khalsa College last year with free hostel facility but this year she was denied facility.

College management says that the facility was revoked due to her poor performance in academics.

Pooja represented Punjab in the 2011-12 National Games when she was a student of Patiala’s government senior secondary school.
