Australian Open: Madison Keys can be top 10 for sure, feels Petra Kvitova
After losing at the hands of Madison Keys in the women`s singles third round at Australian Open on Saturday, fourth seeded Petra Kvitova hailed the former as a top ten material.
New Delhi: After losing at the hands of Madison Keys in the women's singles third round at Australian Open on Saturday, fourth seeded Petra Kvitova hailed the former as a top ten material.
“She can be top 10 for sure. I felt that she improved her movement, as well,” said Kvitova after losing her match in the straight sets to the American teenager.
Keys got the better of Kvitova 6-4 7-5 in an impressive display of clean hitting and thus entered the fourth round of the Grand Slam.
The 19-year-old held her nerves at crucial points against the the two-time Wimbledon champion and captured the decisive break at 5-5 in the second set and sealed the match.
“When she has a big serve, I really need to hold my serve. I don't know what happened, but I couldn't put a serve in," Kvitova added further.
Keys plays compatriot Madison Brengle next to make a place in the quarter-finals.
Keys is coached by legendary Lindsay Davenport.
