Araria(Bihar): Three persons impersonating CBI officials were arrested from a hotel at Forbesganj in Bihar`s Araria district on Tuesday.
State Director General of Police Abhayanand said the three were arrested following a tip off from the hotel, where they had put up by faking their identity. A police team constituted by Araria superintendent of police Shivdeep Lande raided the hotel room and arrested the three imposters.
The trio were staying in the hotel since January 21 and were identified as Sonu Kumar Choudhary and his two accomplices Manjesh Sharma and Kamlesh Thakur.
While Choudhary hails from Pratapganj, Sharma from Chhatapur in Supaul district. Thakur is a resident of Parsa Bishampur village in Darbhanga district, he said.
They had allegedly cheated several government school officials in eight districts and several traders. Fake visiting cards, applications and two cheques of Rs 60,000 besides photocopies of some certificates were seized from them, Abhayanand said.
