Patna: Opposition Congress member Jyoti today created a ruckus in the state legislative council to protest against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar`s alleged remarks against her party member over naming of a road in the state capital.
Jyoti raised the issue in the House during the pre-lunch session and alleged that she was insulted by chief minister on the issue.
She later stood on her seat. Jyoti was soon joined by her party MLC Chandan Bagchi which led to ruling JD(U) members Mahachandra Singh and Satish Kumar asking the chairman of the council to bring the House in order. Leader of opposition in the House Ghulam Ghaus also started speaking something which was inaudible and heated exchanges between the Congress and treasury bench members led to obstruction in the proceedings of the House for sometime.
The council chairman later pacified the agitated members and Jyoti once again raised the issue of anti-social elements constructing their houses on the Tailor Road close to her residence.
Chief Minister had yesterday said that the Congress members should know that the said road has been named after the first Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Krishna Singh. Council Chairman Tarakant Jha assured the agitated Congress members of taking up the issue raised by Jyoti with the state government. Bagchi also demanded that chief minister should apologise for his uncharitable remarks.
