Nagapattinam: Heads of various Hindu mutts in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday demanded ban on Tamil book `Thandavapuram` for allegedly defaming seventh century Hindu saint Thirugnanasambandar.
The demand was made at a conference of heads of Mutts at Sirkazhi, the birth place of Thirugnanasambandar here.
The heads of mutts expressed anguish over the manner in which Thirugnanasambandar had been portrayed in the book, authored by Solai Sundaraperumal, and alleged the contents are hurtful, defamatory and beyond accepted levels of decency. PTI
