New Delhi: It was a historic moment for Indian tennis at Wimbledon 2015 this year, where for the first time, India won three titles in three different categories.

On Sunday, while Indian tennis legend Leander Paes paired with Martina Hingis to win the mixed doubles title, 17-year-old Sumit Nagal grabbed headlines as he partnered Vietnam's Nam Hoang Ly to win the boys doubles trophy. 


The eight seeds beat fourth seeds Reilly Opelka and Akira Santillan 7 -6(4) 6-4 in the title clash that lasted 63 minutes.


Hingis had a role to play in two of those trophies as she earlier paired with Sania Mirza to win the women's doubles title.


Mirza-Hingis won their first Wimbledon women’s doubles title together on Saturday where they made a spectacular comeback in the final set to beat Makarova-Vesnina 5-7 7-6 7-5 in a thrilling final the Centre Court in London.


That wasn't the end for the 34-year-old Swiss, who on Sunday partnered with Paes to register a comprehensive 6-1, 6-1 win over Austrian-Hungarian pair of Alexander Peya and Timea Babos.


The Indian tennis cognoscenti would be extremely proud about the manner in which the Indian players have performed in the most prestigious of all the Grand Slams!
