Vaiko declined to apply for bail.

Vaiko reportedly made the speech in support of the outlawed Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in 2009, the year when the Sri Lankan military crushed the group.

The LTTE, which fought for an independent Tamil state in Sri Lanka, remains outlawed in India.
