The former Tamil Nadu chief minister was admitted to Kauvery Hospital Thursday night with breathing difficulty as well as throat and lung infection.

Giving updates about DMK patriarch's health condition, the hospital said, “He is stable, on antibiotics and is being treated by a team of doctors.”

Karunanidhi was discharged from the same hospital on December 08 after being admitted on December 01 for optimisation of nutrition and hydration.

The doctors had then advised the DMK chief to take rest and not to meet people in a bid to contract any infection.

The drug-induced allergy has virtually kept the 93-year-old leader out of public activities for the past one month.
