The police said that the bombs were thrown at the wall of the two-storeyed building where the office is located. CCTV visuals of the attack have been retrieved and police are trying to identify the attackers.

Soon after the attack took place, police officers rushed to the party office. Security has been heightened outside the premises to avert any untoward incident.

The attack comes a day after a statue of Dravidian icon Periyar was vandalised in Vellore district in Tamil Nadu. Two people - a BJP worker and a CPI worker - were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly vandalising the Periyar statue.
