The snag developed last evening and production was stopped from Tuesday. The unit had been taken up for repair, a senior official in-charge of the unit said.

The power generation in the second unit became operational on March 31. The unit was generating 930 MW per day.

KNPP units 1 and 2 have been built with Russian collaboration. The two units are the largest nuclear power generation units in the country. Units 3 and 4 are under construction.
