New Delhi: Indian telecom consumer has never had it so good as in the current times. Vying to woo subscribers, telecom firms are in a race to outdo each other in offering cheap call and data options to Indian consumer.

Now, it is Reliance Communications, who has come out with a calling plan '149 Unlimited' which offers customers unlimited talk-time to any phone on any telecom network across the country, which includes long distance calls, at just Rs 149 per month.

The `149 Unlimited` plan is available across the 2G, 3G and 4G technology platforms.

"There are still hundreds of millions of older 2G handset-owners in India, and RCOM is positioning the unique plan to migrate these customers to its network, along with 300 MB of data usage. And with RCOM`s high-speed add-on data plans, `149 Unlimited` will also appeal to data-heavy 3G-4G customers, who will benefit from unlimited calling talk-time," Reliance Communications said in a statement on Tuesday.

Since outgoing voice calls are unlimited and free with the new plan at just Rs 149 per month, along with 300 MB of data, all customers need to recharge their accounts for is additional data requirement, if any,” the company said.

Thre are no hidden charges or 'conditions apply' on the plan. However, one would note on RCom’s website that it's data packs are priced well above what others are charging. For example, 1 GB of 4G data is priced at Rs 250-300, depending on the circle, and 10 GB at Rs 1,400-1,850, again depending on the circle. Airtel and Idea offer 2 GB for Rs 250 and 10 GB for Rs 1000.
