"There comes a time in life when we have to decide to move in a different direction," was Williams' caption for an Instagram post with a picture of herself on the cover of Vogue with the title: 'Serena's Farewell...I'm terrible at goodbyes.'

In her 39 Grand Slams trophies, she has 23 singles titles, 14 doubles and two mixed doubles. She is just one Grand Slam title away from breaking the all-time record of Australia's Margaret Court.
The four-time Olympic gold medalist for US has won over $94.5 million from playing Tennis in her career prize money, which is more than any other female athlete. She won her last Grand Slam in 2017. Speaking about personal life, Serena got engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in 2016 and gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.
