One of the most popular temples in India dedicated to Goddess Kali – Dakshineshwar built by Rani Rashmoni on the banks of the mighty Ganga, is visited by thousands of devotees every day. This is the same temple, where the great Vivekananda’s guru – Ramkrishna Paramhans along with his wife Sharada, used to spend their days submerged in deep devotion for Kali Maa.

Budget travel:


From Kolkata, take a bus to Howrah station. From Howrah, take a local train to Bali.


Bali is just 2 stations away from Howrah. Walk out of the station towards the Bali Halt bridge. From the bridge, you can either take a bus or an auto-rickshaw to reach the temple premises.


Travel at ease:


If you can spend more, then take a cab to Howrah station. From Howrah, you can take a local train to reach Bali. Buses too are available but if you want to reach fat without getting stuck in traffic jam, opt for a train. You can also pre-book a cab from Kolkata to Dakshineshwar, if the expenses don’t pinch your pocket.
