After allotting land for Ramayana Museum, UP CM Yogi Adityanath offers help in resolving Ayodhya dispute
Uttar Pradesh`s newly anointed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has welcomed the Supreme Court observation on the settlement of the dispute over the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh's newly anointed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has welcomed the Supreme Court observation on the settlement of the dispute over the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Yogi Adityanath stated that all parties must hold discussion out of court to find an amicable solution to the Ayodhya dispute.
"I welcome the observation of the Supreme Court. Both the parties to the case should sit together and try to find solution to the dispute. Whatever help they want from the government, we will provide,” said Yogi Adityanath.
The saint-politician had on Tuesday accepted the proposal to build a Ramayana Museum in Ayodhya.
Union Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma had told reporters that CM Yogi Adityanath had assured him that land for the proposed Ramayana museum will be provided in a week's time.
The Supreme Court earlier in the day asked all parties concerned to sit together to arrive at a consensus on Ayodhya issue, which has been dragging for decades.
The Chief Justice of India (CJI) also said he is willing to arbitrate and sit across the mediations although not in the capacity of the CJI but as a private individual for resolution of the dispute.
A bench headed by Chief Justice J S Khehar said such religious issues could be solved through negotiations and offered to mediate in order to arrive at an amicable settlement to the dispute.
The Allahabad High Court had in its verdict on September 30, 2010 directed a three-way division of the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya.
The verdict was challenged in the apex court.
