The announcement was made by Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Dinesh Sharma.

The class 10th result 2017 for CBSE and ICSE boards have already been declared. However, the class 10th results for UP Board is yet to be announced.

Officials said that the scheme will be on the lines of the existing Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna (KVDY).

In one such decision aimed at helping the minorities, the Yogi Adityanath government had earlier announced helping poor Muslim families in organising weddings of their daughters.

Minister of State for Minorities Affairs Mohsin Raza said, “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given his consent to mass weddings of poor girls belonging to minority communities and we have included it in the 100 days programme of the state government.”

Interestingly, the UP government's decision to reward about 1,00,000 girls comes on a day when Chief Minister Adityanath turns 45.
