Mentally challenged man chokes wife to death in Ghaziabad
A 28-year-old woman was on Friday allegedly choked to death by her husband inside her house in Ghaziabad`s Modinagar.
NEW DELHI: A 28-year-old woman was on Friday allegedly choked to death by her husband inside her house in Ghaziabad's Modinagar.
The man is said to be mentally challenged. After killing his wife, the husband went to the police station and confessed to the crime.
Police, however, said the woman's husband is changing his statements frequently.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Kavita Kumari (28), who was allegedly chocked by her husband while she was sleeping inside their house in Bhupendra Puri Colony.
"The deceased's husband, Krishan, came to the police station at around 5 am and stated that he chocked his wife to death while she was asleep. Later, the police reached the spot and found the woman's body on the bed. The body had finger marks on the neck," informed a senior police officer.
According to the police, the body has been sent for post-mortem. Following the incident, the deceased's father registered a police complaint against Krishan.
"We have registered an FIR against Krishan. However, he is continuously changing his statement. According to the deceased's family also, Krishan was a psychopath and was under some stress from quite a long time now, and he used to act weird also," the officer added.
Police said the accused is in police custody and they are exploring all the angles in the case. The two got married in 2007 and have two kids. Krishan is an egg vendor. The deceased hails from Muzaffarnagar.
