Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath, five-time Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur and head priest of Gorakhnath temple in his constituency, took oath as the 21st Chief Minister of India's largest state Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

Reacting on the development, Yogi Adityanath's father today expressed his pleasure and said he is very happy to see his son taking the position.

"From the very start, he had this aim of serving the people. Now that he has become the Chief Minister, I am really very happy," Yogi Adityanath's father said.


The oath-taking ceremony took place at Kanshiram Smriti Upvan in Lucknow today afternoon. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and several senior party leaders.
