Zeenext Bureau Manama, Aug 25: There is no evidence yet of a fire in one of the engines of a Gulf Air plane which crashed in the Bahrain Gulf on Thursday, said airline officials on Friday. The crash killed all the 143 on board, including an Indian airhostess. The Gulf Air spokesman said: “Three Gulf Air employees saw the incident and none of them reported anything unusual about the plane." Regional and international investigators since Friday have started looking into the reasons for the crash. Some eyewitnesses had reported seeing flames emerging from one of the two engines of the Airbus A-320 aircraft. Bahrain airport officials said though the pilot tried to land several times, he never reported any technical difficulty.
