Zeenext Bureau Bangalore, Aug 25: Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, the No. 1 tennis doubles players a year ago, will play their first Grand Slam event in the year – US Open – starting on Aug 28. The champion team, the best India had ever produced, separated last year after some differences. The reason given was that Bhupathi was injured and had to undergo surgery, though the truth came out a few days later that the two were not in good terms and had separated. Paes and Bhupathi had created a record last year, appearing in the finals of all the Grand Slam events last year. The two are supposed to have come together for the Olympics, which is taking off from Sept 15.
