New Delhi, Aug 29: A record number of 23 Bills were passed during the month-long Monsoon session of Parliament, which concluded on Aug 25, 2000. Fifteen new Bills were introduced and five Bills, which were ready for introduction and could not be introduced during the budget session of Parliament ending May 17, 2000, were also introduced in the Monsoon session. Two Bills – “The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill, 2000'' and ''Auroville (Emergency Provisions) Repeal Bill, 2000” -- which were ready, however, could not be introduced due to paucity of time.
