Mumbai, Aug 30: India, preparing for the next World Cup preliminaries, has slipped seven positions in the latest FIFA rankings. In the August issue of official FIFA magazine Football Asia India which was ranked 106 last December is now placed 113 and at number 20 in Asia. The biggest change in Asian supremacy is Iran leapfrogging over Korea Republic for the first place in Asia. Korea for years has been ranked first in Asia. At the top of the world ranking is Brazil despite its miserable show in the World Cup qualifiers, while World Cup champions France has crept nearer by overtaking Czech Republic for the second spot. — UNI
