Bengal BJP flays Mamata on Rohingya Muslims issue
West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Thursday ridiculed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee`s remarks on the Rohingya people and alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) was trying to turn the state into a `safe haven for terrorists and jihadis` for vote bank politics.
Kolkata: West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh on Thursday ridiculed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's remarks on the Rohingya people and alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) was trying to turn the state into a "safe haven for terrorists and jihadis" for vote bank politics.
"She (Banerjee) is in deep pain because of the condition of the Rohingya people, but is she not aware that these people have links with terror groups? She is well aware of it, but she still wants to give refuge to them for vote bank politics.
"She had given a 'BJP, quit India' call, but her real call is 'terrorists, welcome to India'," he told reporters here.
Banerjee had, last week, expressed concern over the plight of the Rohingya people and voiced support to the UN appeal to help them.
"We do support the UN appeal to help the Rohingya people. We believe that all commoners are not terrorists. We are really concerned," she had said in a tweet.
