KOLKATA: A moderate earthquake shook parts of West Bengal on Saturday evening. Temors were felt in Kolkata and parts of south Bengal around 4.30 PM.

According to the Meteorological department, an earthquake of 3.6 magnitude hit parts of West Bengal, tremors of which were felt in Howrah district and other areas.


The depth was around 10 km, it said.

Tremors were also felt in Hooghly and West Midnapore districts in south Bengal.


The vibrations lasted for a few seconds. 


However, no casualties were reported.
