Extending its SUV portfolio, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched the new compact SUV - FRONX at a starting price of Rs 7.46 lakh, ex-showroom. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx will retail via the company’s NEXA chain of outlets. The Fronx will retail in a total of 12 variants with permutations and combinations made out of two engine options - 1.2L NA petrol and 1.0L turbo-petrol, along with three transmission choices - 5-speed MT, 5-speed AMT, and 6-speed AT. Also, the Fronx will be available via the company’s subscription plans, starting from Rs 17,378.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Mileage & Performance


The 1.2L NA petrol motor on the Fronx puts out 90 PS against 113 Nm, and it delivers a claimed mileage of 21.79kmpl with the 5-speed MT and 22.89 kmpl with the 5-speed AMT.  Furthermore, the 1.0L turbo-petrol unit is claimed to offer a mileage of 21.50 kmpl with the manual transmission and 20.01 kmpl with the automatic gearbox.


Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Variants & Features


A total of 5 variants of the Fronx will be sold in the Indian market, namely Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. Moreover, the feature list on this sub-4m SUV remains long, including a 360-parking camera, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, steering-mounted paddle shifters, automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, Arkamys sound system and more.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Safety


Built on the acclaimed Suzuki Heatect platform, The Fronx uses high-tensile and ultra-high tensile steel ensuring a strong body structure. A host of safety features including 6 airbags (driver, co-driver, side & curtain), 3-point ELR seatbelts, ESP with Hill Hold Assist & rollover mitigation, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, among others.


Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Design


With a ground clearance of 190 mm, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has a jacked-up stance with enough to tone down the ‘Baleno on heels’ effect. The front fascia is inspired by the larger Grand Vitara, housing a hexagonal grille with vertically-split headlamps. The roofline is coupe-like, and it drops down to the rear, which comes with slim connected tail lamps. It rides on diamond-cut alloy wheels, measuring 17-inch in diameter.
