Bettiah: Local administration in Bihar is in the midst of a controversy. As per reports, just ahead of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's visit a school, which was set up Kasturba Gandhi in Bettiah district, was spruced up.

The occasion was the completion of hundred years of the school. Among other things, new desks for students were hired on rent. The Bihar CM inspected the school and met the students on November 20, 2017. He even planted tree saplings there.


However, later on, the desks were taken away. This lead to protests by students who are demanding better facilities.


They had the good fortune of having a desk for some seven odd days. Now, like before, the students are forced to sit on the floor and study.


As per Zee Media, even the teachers are clueless as to why the desks were taken away.

Before Nitish's arrival, the school is said to have received Rs 22 lakh as funds.
