Civil Aviation Minister Sharad Yadav in New Delhi, reviewed flight operations at the Delhi Airport that were severely hampered due to thick blanket of fog enveloping the national capital.

Expressing concern over the considerable diversions of flights even after the operation of CAT-III-A, Yadav stressed upon the urgent need for developing Jaipur airport as an alternate airport for Delhi in case of unavoidable diversions as per recommendations of task force on infrastructure, an official release said on Tuesday.
Directing Airports Authority of India chairman, the minister, who reviewed the situation on Monday, said that necessary action should be initiated at Jaipur Airport including the extension of runway that was a basic requirement, in this regard.
Yadav also took stock of the arrangements made with the help of close coordination among various agencies operating at the airport terminals in respect of timely communication to passengers, transport and other facilities to stranded passengers to avoid inconvenience and congestion in terminals.
