Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play a surrogate mother in `Jasmine`?
Ash will also be seen in Prernaa Arora`s remake of the classic thriller `Raat Aur Din`.
New Delhi: Former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is currently busy with her upcoming venture Fanney Khan starring Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. The buzz is strong that she might be seen playing a surrogate mother in a film titled Jasmine.
Based on a real-life story set in Gujarat and Pushkar, Jasmine will tell the touching tale of a woman who becomes a surrogate mother and later gets attached to the child. According to Mumbai Mirror, the titular role of the mother might be played by none other than gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Reportedly, Jasmine will be co-production between Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh and Prernaa Arora. Shree Narayan Singh told Mirror, “It is inspired by a real life story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn't want to have children but decides to become a surrogate mother for someone else. After a point she gets attached to the child and wants the child back.”
Meanwhile, Ash will also be seen in Prernaa Arora's remake of the classic 1961 thriller Raat Aur Din featuring late actress Nargis Dutt. The legendary actress had bagged the National Award for Best Actress in that year.
Although the makers want Ash to play the titular role in Jasmine, nothing has been confirmed as yet.
Looks like Aishwarya will rule the screens this year!
