New Delhi: Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is known for presenting a hard-hitting narrative which leaves an impression on viewers' minds. His recent outing Mukkabaaz has received a positive response from the critics.

The masses too have liked the venture which released on January 12, 2018, clashing with two other films—Saif Ali Khan's Kaalakaandi and Vikram Bhatt's 1921 respectively.


Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the Day six figures.



Mukkabaaz happens to be a sports drama where the way the main character displays his passion for boxing has been appreciated much by the audience.


The film also underlines the horrors of the caste system and how it still plays a strong role in various facets of life. Mukkabaaz was also screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival and the 2017 Mumbai Film Festival.


Besides Vineet Kumar Singh, the film also stars Zoya Hussain, Ravi Kishan and Jimmy Shergill playing pivotal parts. 


Interestingly, the filmmaker's hard-hitting drama Mukkabaaz which was premiered at the 2017 Mami Film Festival in Liberty Cinema received a standing ovation from the viewers.


The filmmaker is known for presenting a powerful narrative in his own unique style. After the debacle of Bombay Velvet, Anurag Kashyap certainly is back and that too in his own desi way of nail-biting storytelling technique.
