Shah Rukh Khan says stardom has overtaken his acting capabilities
Talking about his stardom vis-a-vis his acting abilities, SRK said that he doesn`t let fame overpower his decision to perform different characters.
Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan unveiled the trailer of his much delayed but anticipated film – Raees – on Thursday in a never-seen-before manner. The trailer of the film was launched simultaneously through a live-chat in nine cities across India amid much fanfare and enthusiasm shown by his jabra fans.
Talking about his stardom vis-à-vis his acting abilities, SRK said that he doesn’t let fame overpower his decision to perform different characters.
"I am here to play different kind of roles. I think my stardom has overtaken my acting capability and it's alright. I try to do different and interesting stuff with every film. I had never done something like that before. I am fortunate that I got to do different films," SRK said at the trailer launch event.
SRK will be essaying the role of Raees Alam, a bootlegger, whose business is highly challenged and eventually thwarted by a police officer, ACP Majmudar played by method actor Nawazuddin Siddqui.
The film, which was initially slated to release on Eid this year along with Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’, will now clash with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ at the Box Office on January 26.
‘Raees’ has made headlines for more reasons than one and it will be interesting to see if the film’s succeeds at the Box Office.
Produced by Gauri Khan, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under their banners Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment, the film will mark the Bollywood debut of Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.
