However, the actor assured his fans that he will try to be ready for his performance on stage. "I hate being sick... It is such a dilemma sometimes—do you medicate yourself and work through the sickness or rest it out and lose out on work and your time? Anyway, I guess have to rest it out and recover in time for IIFA and nail it on stage there," Arjun tweeted today.

And now, 'Padmaavat' actor Shahid Kapoor has backed out of the event.

A report stated that while shooting for his upcoming social drama film 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', Shahid sustained a back injury. However, despite that, the actor continued filming and did not take any rest. Shahid is reportedly desperate to wrap up the movie by the month end, hence he decided not to take any rest. To matter worse, he began practising for his gig at IIFA award night as soon as he returned from filming.

The actor was advised by his doctor not to indulge in any strenuous activity. And he ended up getting a severe back spasm. Shahid, who was supposed to fly to Bangkok on Thursday night, decided to exit from the awards night and conveyed this to the organisers.

Much to the relief of the organisers, 'Race 3' actor Bobby Deol has stepped in to perform after Shahid's exit from the event. Bobby will be returning to the grand event after a span of seven long years and as per a Bollywoodlife.com, he has been rehearsing for long hours to deliver a spectacular performance on the stage.
