In terms of design, the Urban Cross will feature subtle differences over the Avventura. Though the vehicle which was displaced at the Auto Expo was production-ready, it had certain outlandish show car trappings which will be toned down. For starters, unlike the Avventura, the Urban Cross will not have the rear-mounted spare wheels and it will also have redesigned all-around body cladding.

On the inside, the Urban Cross will have the newly introduced 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, while rest of the features will be similar to the Avventura and the Punto EVO. It will ride on 16-inch tyres on Abarth Scorpion alloy wheels, which are likely to be standard on the Urban Cross.

Mechanically, the Urban Cross will be available with an Abarth-tuned 1.4-litre T-Jet motor, which is also available in the Fiat Avventura (powered by Abarth). The turbocharged petrol musters 142PS @ 5,500rpm of max power and 210Nm of peak torque between 2000-4000rpm, and will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Reportedly, Fiat will also offer the Urban Cross with the 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel, which puts out 93PS @ 4000rpm and 209Nm @ 2000rpm. The diesel is also coupled to 5-speed manual transmission.
