Bangkok, June 01: India has been listed as the second best "exotic tourist destination" that people would like to visit, according to a recent survey. The country also ranked third amongst the nations truly representing Asia, the survey conducted by Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in the US and Sasin School of Business Administration of Thailand, said.
Thailand topped the list of "exotic" holiday destinations followed by India, China and Egypt, it said.
Thailand was the only Asian country, ranked at third position, among top 10 tourist destinations in the world as the first places that came to people's mind, said the survey.
Italy and France came first and second, respectively while Spain and the United States shared the fifth spot, followed by Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand and Switzerland, sharing 7th spot.
Thailand was also rated as the country offering best hospitality to visitors.
China was voted as truly representing Asia, while Thailand came in second. India and Malaysia stood at third spot.
