New Delhi: Joining the race in the ever growing LTE device market, home-grown handset maker Micromax on Wednesday launched its first 4G smartphone, the Canvas Xpress 4G pricing it competively at Rs 6,599.


The Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G supports Cat 4 LTE speeds (150Mbps/50Mbps) and will compete against the likes of Lenovo A6000 Plus, Xiaomi Redmi 2, YU Yuphoria, Samsung Galaxy J2 and Moto E 4G.


The new device comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display panel and is powered by a 1GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor with 2GB RAM. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.


It comes with a 16GB internal storage and support microSD card for storage expansion.


The Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G comes with an 8MP camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. The device is powered by a 2,000mAh battery and connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0.


The device will be available on e-commerce site Flipkart starting Wednesday through flash sale.
