Microsoft to discontinue Lumia smartphones by December

New Delhi: It appears that Microsoft is working to end its Lumia range of devices.
As per the site winbeta, which claims to the source of Windows 10 and Microsoft news, the tech major is preparing to “end sales” of the Lumia range by December 2016.
Microsoft slashed prices of some of its Lumia handsets, which may be in tune to its target of killing the the Lumia range.
Microsoft had inherited Lumia from Nokia and owns the budget range of devices like Lumia 540, 640 XL, mid range like Lumia 65 and 640 XL and high end devices like Lumia 950 and 950 XL.
The Lumia series did not manage to garner significant sales numbers despite Microsoft making definitive moves like introducing high end camera technology in the devices to carrying out price cuts.
