decided to impose a ban on monsoon trawling by mechanised
fishing boats in the Kerala coast for 45 days from June 14

Talking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, Antony said
decision in the matter was taken following discussion with all
sections of the fishermen community and fishing sector.
Trawling by mechanised fishing boats was banned every year
during monsoon to protect sea wealth.
Government also decided not to hike electricity tariff.
The government which was also facing financial crunch, would
find alternative ways to find a solution to the financial

"In the present circumstances, government felt that power tariff hike is not possible in the state," Antony said.
