New Delhi: India's leading telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Thursday reported a 22 percent drop in its net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2015.


The net profit stood at Rs 1,117 crore as compared to the the Rs 1,436 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.


In October, Airtel had reported a 10.1 percent jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,523 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, on the back of growth in data traffic.


However, total revenue of Airtel rose 3.7 percent to Rs 24,066 crore for December quarter as against Rs 23,217 crore in year-ago period.
