Hyderabad, Nov 14: Star leg spinner Anil Kumble has opted out of India's crucial TVS Cup triangular series cricket match against New Zealand here tomorrow to attend to religious
rites in connection with his father's death.
Kumble's father passed away in Bangalore on November 3 forcing the spinner to miss the Cuttack tri-series match against New Zealand on November 06.
Though Kumble played the last match against Australia in his home ground in Bangalore on Wednesday, he has made himself unavailable for the do-or-die floodlit game against the Kiwis, paving the decks for off spinner Harbhajan Singh to come back to the team. Although the Indians have not yet announced their playing eleven, they were likely to go in with two specialist spinners in Harbhajan Singh and Murali Kartik.
