Beginning from February 8, all 258 trains including passenger, mail and express services will be restored gradually within next week, a senior Railway Ministry official said today.

A total 129 pairs of trains which were earlier announced to remain cancelled till February 29, would be pressed into regular service in a staggered manner from Monday and the restoration will be completed by February 13.

There was a review of prevailing weather condition and forecast for the coming days was also taken into account before
taking the decision, the official said.

Ahead of winter season, railways had prepared the action plan to tackle fog and announced the list of trains to be cancelled.

While frequency of about 400 trains were reduced, services of 30 mail/express trains were completely cancelled by railways keeping the fog situation in mind.

Earlier, railways had restored the service of 68 trains from January 25 after the periodic review of the weather condition.

Now weather becoming clear the visibility has increased significantly so all cancelled trains will be resuming the regular service between February 8 and 13.
