New Delhi, Dec 06: A two-member team will leave for Kuala Lumpur today to assist the Malaysian authorities in the extradition case against Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi, an accused in the multi-crore Bofors payoff scam. A CBI spokesman said the two member team of a senior official and a legal officer from the agency`s prosecution wing would brief the Malaysian law ministry officials about the case.
The move comes in the wake of a sessions court in Malaysia turning down the plea for Quattrocchi`s extradition to India in connection with the Bofors case.
The Malaysian authorities, at the request of India, have already filed an appeal in the Malaysian High Court, which would come up for hearing again on Monday.

The spokesman termed it as a "positive" development the Malaysian High Court order asking Quattrocchi to surrender his passport.
