The benchmark BSE Sensex erased its early losses and quoted higher by over 50 points in early trade Tuesday due to low level buying by participants.


Caution ahead of expiry of November monthly contracts in the derivatives segment, however, limited upside.



The 30-share barometer was up by 26.31 points, or 0.10 percent, at 25,845.65 in early trade.


The index had lost 49.15 points in the previous volatile session.


The NSE Nifty was trading higher by 5.50 points, or 0.07 percent, at 7,854.75 in early trade.


Markets will remain closed tomorrow on account of 'Guru Nanak Jayanthi.


In Asia, Shanghai composite was quoting 0.71 percent lower, Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.64 percent while Japan's Nikkei was down by 0.08 percent in early trade today.


The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.17 percent lower in yesterday's trade.
