New Delhi, Sept 19: BJP general secretary Promod Mahajan today said he has mixed feelings about the Rai Bareli court judgement which discharged deputy prime minister but decided to frame charges against seven other including Human Resource Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi. "We are happy that Advani has been let off but we were expecting other seven would also have been let off. We are feeling sad for it. Therefore, there is a mixed feeling," Mahajan, who along with Minister of State for Home Harin Pathak came to see Advani, told reporters outside the residence of the Deputy Prime Minister.

"Although, Joshi publicly said yesterday that he would resign if charges were framed against him but we (party) had said earlier and today also BJP is of the view that there is no need for Joshi to resign because it is not a corruption case but it is a political movement in which the cases have been made," Mahajan said when asked about Joshi's remarks. On Opposition demand for resignations of Advani and others, the party general secretary said "for the Opposition now the charges against Advani has not been framed. This will not be an issue any longer. I hope they don't raise in future. Congress was wrong in demanding resignation of Advani and Joshi in this case earlier."

"The case will have a bearing on the politics of the country and false propaganda being carried out against Advani will now come to an end," he added.
