New Delhi: The complete database of the Panama Papers was released on Monday on https://offshoreleaks.icij.org/ by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

Panama Papers belonged to Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca. Though Mossack Fonseca has maintained that it has never been accused or charged with criminal wrongdoing, and is a victim of a hack. The release of documents have revealed hidden assets of hundreds of politicians, officials, current and former national leaders, celebrities and sports stars, putting them in a bind.

Mossack Fonesca, had last week issued a "cease and desist " in order to prevent the database from becoming public, however International Consortium of Investigative Journalists has gone ahead with it.

The papers list more than 200,000 shell companies, foundations and trusts set up in more than 20 tax havens around the world.
