Mumbai, July 14: Fresh confrontation between Shiv Sena-BJP opposition and the ruling Democratic Front in Maharashtra over the implementation of the business advisory committee`s decisions and the controversy over the probe into the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket as well as the arrest of MLA Anil Gote are likely to dominate the monsoon session of the state legislature which began here today.
Adopting an aggressive posture, the Sena-BJP combine, which is gearing up for the next assembly elections, will try to corner the government on the "deteriorating" law and order situation in the state, the "failure" to tackle acute shortage of electricity and water and increase in the number of arrests of police officials on graft charges in recent times, political observers here said.

The opposition has alleged that they were prevented by the ruling front from expressing their views during the special session of the Lower House on May 8 to deal with the appropriation bill imbroglio.
Peeved over the issue, the saffron combine members had tendered resignations from the business advisory committee.

After failing to extract a promise from the DF that the business agreed upon by the BAC would be implemented in the house, the Sena-BJP members continued with their boycott and did not attend the BAC meetings on June 23 and 30 to finalise the agenda for the monsoon session.

Leader of the Opposition in assembly, Narayan Rane, in a missive to the Speaker Arun Gujrathi and the chief minister Sushilkumar Shinde, has issued an ultimatum that the saffron combine would boycott all functions, hosted by the government, including the customary tea meeting hosted by the Chief Minister.
