Lucknow, July 20: In a sudden development the Uttar Pradesh government today suspended senior superintendent of police, Lucknow, B B Bakshi, besides shifting the Inspector General and the DIG of Lucknow range in the wake of rising crime rate in the state capital. Bakshi has been placed under suspension for his alleged "failure in controlling the rising crime graph in the state capital and slackness in supervision over subordinate officials", an official spokesman here said. He has been replaced by the superintendent of police (intelligence) Anil Kumar Agarwal.
While DIG of Meerut Range Arun Kumar has been made DIG of Lucknow replacing Gurdarshan Singh, Hoshiar Singh Balwaria would be the new IG of Lucknow zone in place of A K Jain, who has been shifted to the Police Training College in Moradabad, the spokeman said.
