Yuvraj, 34, still harbouring a dream for India comeback led from the front with a scintillating knock of 260 runs off 370 balls as Punjab moved past Baroda's first innings total of 529/4d on Sunday.

It's his first Ranji double hundred, and the knock was laced with 26 fours and four sixes. He, along with opener Manan Vohra (224) posted a 343-run stand for the third wicket.

Delhi's historic Feroz Shah Kotla stadium also witnessed an epic 293-run knock from Baroda skipper Deepak Hooda in their first innings.

Yuvraj's 260 also became the highest ever score by a Punjab Ranji captain. And the limelight remained on the seasoned player as he continues to press hard for another India comeback.

And soon, his name became one of the top Internet trends on Diwali.

The celebrated all-rounder was coming into this match after a disappointing outing against Bengal. The southpaw managed 22 and 26 in that Ranji Group A match at Bilaspur. He scored 177 and 76 against Madhya Pradesh.

Thanks to these knocks, Yuvraj is now the leading scorer of the season with 587 runs. He is followed by Hooda, with 557 runs. Rishabh Pant (547) and Ankit Bawne (467) are third and fourth on Sunday.

Yuvraj last played for India in a Twenty20 International early this year during the 2016 ICC World T20 at Chandigarh.
