His figures of 8/50 was the best record of a foreign spinner in India. However, Lyon didn't have a good outing in the 2nd innings and failed to take even a single wicket.

His inability to take even a single wicket in the 2nd innings was due to an injury to his spinning finger.

According to team's physio, there was a crack in the callus of his index finger. The team authority feels that a four-day break will get Lyon back in form.

"There's no doubt it impacted the way he bowled, but that's a part of the game. Fast bowlers bowl with bad toes and backs, spin bowlers over time have gone through some finger issues," Aussie assistant coach David Saker said.

"You probably have to deal with it as best you can, but there’s no doubt it affects a lot of bowlers. Just those little niggles, always affect people," he added.
